  so i prepared one for my own use, and recently realised others may also find it useful.

  you should send it to Ray... in case there ever might be a second edition (who knows), it might be of use....

  I mentioned it to him a year or so ago, but he wasn't bothered.

  Maybe he'd already done one, he didn't say, and we just carried on discussing other things...

  propaganda...?

  once in a while for some reason or another ill take a look at the official jw website.... their latest magazine is interestingly talking about propaganda.... the wt reads "propaganda tells you what to think" but "good educators present all sides of an issue & encourage discussion".

  "propagandists sift the facts...exploit useful ones...distort & twist facts...your emotions not logical thinkin abilities are their target".

  this article is under "do not be a victim to propaganda".

  The Last Days

  did the last days begin after jesus' death and continues today.

  because i am starting to believe that.

  i dont believe in 1914 or that israel becoming a nation started the last days as believed by many fundamentalist.

  If there was a 'last days' at all, I think they probably began when Jesus died, and ended with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.

  Now these things went on befalling them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have arrived. (1 Corinthians 10:11)

  Is the Society's message to JW's getting stronger?

  during a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.

  he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.

  he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .

  Someone wondered whether 'civil war' will erupt between the 'hard-liners' and the 'liberals' on the GB.

  In a sense, there's been on-off 'civil war' between the two factions for the last 25 years (ever since the 'Ray Franz incident'), in a cold-war kinda way.

  It's never (yet) broken out into a 'hot' war, but the frequent contradictions between articles in The Watchtower and Our Kingdom Ministry are clear evidence of 'guerilla-type skirmishes' between the two sides.

  It is a conflict that can only be won by the TJ faction, as they have the majority vote (even if not-yet-the magic 2/3 majority) on the GB and all future replacements (irrespective of from wherever they may be dredged up!) will have to be acceptable to their 'camp' to get their vote. Any future 'liberal' nominations will be vetoed. So TJ's group can only get stronger and will one day achieve their 2/3 majority

  Will there ever be a group splitting off to form a new 'religion'? Highly unlikely, probably. Back in Rutherford's days, the organisation was insignificant and it was no big deal to walk away from it. Nowadays it's a multi-billion-dollar, multi-national organisation. That gives the organisation's officers a lot of power and influence with governments, health authorities, aid agencies and UN affiliates.

  Neither faction would willingly walk away from all that money and influence, though once he gets his 2/3 majority, it's possible TJ may force the issue and try to expel any he deems too 'soft.' (Interestingly, this hardening of attitudes neatly parallels general trends in the USA.)

  the website of the german branch says there will be another announcement on march 24th, 2005 in the court case that has been lasting for more than a decade now in which they try get granted the status of a public body.
